international dog-training competitions organized by various sport associations and police force units. As a proof of their professionalism and competence, our trainers always have obtained good results.

Although our instructors use their dogs as teaching tools during the courses, they also may be deployed at any time to give a helping hand if a need arises. Such a case happened recently. On December 1, 2009, a convicted rapist escaped from the Bistrita County Police Department. To capture the fugitive, more than 500 police officers were involved in searching the nearby mountains. The suspect managed to remain hidden for three

weeks, probably helped by relatives. Nevertheless, when the Bistrita County Police Department requested support, two of our teams were deployed to the area.

After two tough days of searching
the forests, K- 9 Nina, trained by
Aurelian Vlad, managed to locate the
offender and he was taken into
custody. For his accomplishment,
Officer Vlad was nominated for the
“Officer of the Year.” ■
